The Fun Begins-Vacation 2009

July 23, 2009 rob 157 (2)A beach vacation must include time at a beach by definition. This year the Fairegarden clan met up in South Carolina at Isle Of Palms, just outside Charleston. Offspring of offspring Semi, little almost four year old LTB was full of excitement about the whole affair. As luck would have it, he suffered a broken foot while climbing some rocks just days before the trip. With foot in cast, he awaits the next righteous wave on his boogie board. July 22, 2009 beach old 001 (3) While the beach is the draw, the swimming pool at the rental house was used even more. LTB joined cousins MA and GA, offspring of Chickenpoet for a dip. July 22, 2009 beach old 003 (3) In Spiderman flotation suit and waterproof red cast on his foot self decorated with a Spiderman web design, LTB begins a series of jumps. He makes sure the camera is focused on him. Well of course it is. July 22, 2009 beach old 011 (3) The performance begins with the standard aeroplane arm extension. July 22, 2009 beach old 013 (3) Arms up, eyes closed and a Yeeeehawwww. July 22, 2009 beach old 015 (3) Oooh, good distance on this one. July 22, 2009 beach old 020 (3) Knee bent, toe perfectly pointed as The Financier offers a softer landing spot. July 22, 2009 beach old 026 (3) With a smile, youthful abandon and water dripping from the toe of the cast, LTB displays his skydiving technique. July 22, 2009 beach old 031 (3) Grand finale of the dead man fall ends the show. July 22, 2009 beach old cam 036 (2) Just to keep this post garden oriented, sort of, the above shot was taken of the dunes along the path from the house to the ocean. There were beautiful yellow flowers blooming and the sea oats waving amongst the grasses. This scene never failed to delight each day as the pilgrimage was made to the water.

Dear friends and gentle readers, the trials and tribulations of the hacked email account continues. As in the post before, I Am Not In England…, I can be contacted via comments on this post. In the meantime, posting about the recent vacation and back home at Fairegarden will help keep me sane. Thank you for your sympathies and support.

  2. Janet says:

Is he Superman? or Spiderman?? Great action shots. The beach looks perfect….ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

HA Janet, good one. Thanks, I needed a laugh. The beach was so nice, not at all crowded, water temp perfect, close to the house, all good.

  3. gittan says:

    Great pictures of little LTB!
I was stupid enoght to awnser the mail before I was really thinking. My mom raised a polite girl in me =) (but since I’m blond I don’t need any excuse “LOL”) So I did receive another mail from “you”. No big problem for me but I can amigine how you feel about all this. I do hope nobody went into that trap! But most of all I hope your vacation was relaxing and fun for all of you / dubbel kram gittan

Dear Gittan, you are so sweet to respond. I do hope nothing happens to your email because of it. The saga continues with MSN trying to get things back to normal for my email account. But life goes on, and the vacation was wonderful. Double kram back to you.

  4. Gail says:

My dear…hello and oh crud that the email problems continue. A nightmare for sure….hugs and more hugs. I love seeing little LTB perform so beautifully under pressure! The time we have when they are so cute and precious seems to speed by and before long they are preteens! I can’t wait to hear more about vacation and see your beach photos…Call me if you have time…I just now got back home! gail

Thanks Gail. Your gentle voice of reason is sorely needed as this email nightmare never ends. LTB is at a very cute age it is true. They grow up so quickly, in the blink of an eye.

  5. tina says:

Wowser! Sure does look like fun!

    Thanks Tina. It was.

  6. chuck b. says:

LTB jumps, dare I say it, with gusto!

HA Chuck, yes, you dare. That may be my new favorite phrase, with gusto.

  7. The broken foot and cast are certainly not hampering LTB enjoying the beach and the pool. Oh how I wish I had just a tenth of that energy. I do hope you get all your email issues sorted out soon.

Thanks, Linda. You should have seen him hobbling around with the cast, running even, without a care about it at all. Looking at his expressions as the photos were downloading was amazing to us. He lives his life with gusto, for sure. The email thing is annoying. Thank goodness there is more to life than that.

  8. Dave says:

Spiderman has always been my favorite superhero! Looks like he had a great time!

You and LTB would get along great, Dave. He sometimes flits to other heroes, Batman, Ironman, etc. but always comes back to Spidey.

  9. lynn says:

What a little cutie and such a ham! I can almost hear the “watch me, watch me!” as he demonstrates those jumps πŸ˜‰ Looked like a great family vacation!

Thanks Lynn. The vacation was wonderful and he does like to be the center of attention. It will last until the next grandchild comes around, whenever that might be. πŸ™‚

  10. Darla says:

If didn’t capture the excitement from that young boy, none has ever been captured!! PRICELESS!

Thanks Darla for those kind words. His enthusiasm is infectious.

  11. Lisa at Greenbow says:

What fun having the family together. LTB must be made of iron going swimming and diving with a cast on. A summer to remember for sure.

It was, Lisa. LTB was not bothered by the broken foot in any way, except it itches.

  12. What a good laugh!

    Great shots too!

Glad you liked it, Rob, and thanks.

  13. The little guy reminds me of my nephew when he was little. he took similar dives off the couch (and onto the floor) about that age. (Um, don’t worry; he’s perfectly normal now at 20. Well, mostly. Um, hi.)

Hi Monica, thanks for visiting. LTB jumps off the couch too, onto huge piles of pillows. But not with the cast on now. Hope your nephew isn’t reading this. πŸ™‚

  14. Daphne Gould says:

Oh that is priceless. Only kids can ignore the broken foot. Us older folk think too much before we leap like spiderman. Have a great vacation.

Thanks, Daphne. You are so right about kids not being bothered, playing is way too important to stop for such a minor problem like a cast. We are back from vacation, it was a wonderful one.

  15. Catherine says:

How fun! That pool looks good to me right now, it’s hot here. Glad you all enjoyed your trip.

Thanks, Catherine. The trip was wonderful and the pool quite cooling for it was shaded in parts, a good thing. πŸ™‚

  16. Layanee says:

Those action shots are superb and seeing the glee on that little face is priceless. I hope you are embracing the calm. Sending hugs…

Thanks for the hugs, Layanee, I need them. Looking at the vacation photos is a nice escape from the current mess too. πŸ™‚

  17. autumnbelle says:

This little guy is really having a whale of fun. Look at him, so very happy. Mummy is very sporting to bring him out and let him enjoy the splash.

Thanks Autumnbelle. We were afraid the Semi family would not attend when the foot was broken. It would have been a shame had they missed the fun and we would certainly have missed them.

  18. Thanks for those photos of LT|b – it brought a real smile ot my face to see him having so much fun!

Hi Happy and thanks for that. Bringing more happiness to someone named Happy is a real accomplishment. πŸ™‚

  19. Sweet Bay says:

I love Sea Oats too. Your grandson looks like he’s having so much fun!

Thanks Sweetbay. Sea Oats are so graceful along with useful, it was a beautiful setting.

  20. Rose says:

Looks like his broken foot hasn’t slowed down LTB a bit! What a wonderful vacation this must have been spending it with your family, Frances. I hope the pesky e-mail hacker problems get resolved for you soon so you can “relax” from your vacation.

Thanks, Rose. It was a great vacation. Too bad the email problem prevented the normal *getting back to normal after a vacation* routine. I don’t know if it will ever be resolved, with the perp caught and prosecuted though. Change your passwords!

  21. Your photos capture all of the joy of being a little boy, a little boy on vacation.~~Dee

Thanks Dee, or as LTB says *Bacation*! πŸ™‚

  22. Racquel says:

Oh you got some fantastic shots of your Grandson! He looks like superman leaping through the air, lol. πŸ™‚

Hi Racquel, thanks. He did get some good air time on those jumps, even with the extra weight of the cast.

  23. TC says:

Such fun pictures Ms. Frances! LTB looks like he’s havin a blast! Thanks for “takin” us along on your vacation.

When I lived in North Charleston, SC, many many years ago, I frequented Isle of Palms quite often. Lovely place.

Thanks TC. What a wonderful place to live. So much to offer, the beach, great city and night life along with plenty of art and culture. Not to mention the food too. You must have had a blast there. πŸ™‚

  24. commonweeder says:

What a wonderful family, and wonderful that you can all spend time together with WATER! All irritations (as with email) pale in comparison. We grannies do know how to appreciate the important things.

Hi Pat, thanks so much. The beach is our favorite place to be together too. You are so right about the email being unimportant, it does seem that way now that it appears to be working. As for being a grandma, it is the greatest joy, as you well know. πŸ™‚

  25. mothernaturesgarden says:

Man, you have captured some wild abandoned fun here. A cast to swim in is amazing.

Thanks, Donna. He is something, little LTB. When my kids had casts, they were not allowed to get wet, even for bathing, what a difference this one was.

  26. Steve says:

That kid sure looks familiar. Wait!! – I think that’s every boy lucky enough to have someone love them! Yeah, that’s the ticket!

Hi Steve, oh yes, he and all the family are well loved. A winning ticket for sure! πŸ™‚
