About me
My name is Frances and I am a lifelong gardener, having lived in various parts of the USA over many years. I am now gardening in USDA Zone 7a east Tennessee. From 2000 to 2014 I was gardening on a slope in a small town in Tennessee. I have been blogging about my gardens since December of 2007. Thank you for visiting!

How beautiful Frances, thank you for that burst of colour, the promise of things to come! Happy New Year.
Your photos reminds me that we have so much to look forward to Frances. I wish you a Happy New Year with everything wonderful that comes in the garden.
Though I have never been a huge fan of this holiday, I for one will be glad to see 2010 behind us, but I am afraid it has left some unfinished business yet to be sorted out. Thank you for the new year’s wishes and for the lovely pictures. Did you make this into a paper calender?
Hi,
Lovely photos, I hope you have a wonderful New Year!
sigh….yes….the winter will move on…Happy New Year
Gorgeous Frances. It makes one want to jump a year ahead to see what is in store for the next calendar.
A beautiful calendar Frances. I would be fun to have it as a screen saver. Happy New Year FFF.
Love it. Where can I buy it?
Frances these are incredible…you should consider creating a calendar…I would buy it….have a great 2011!!
Ahhh, lovely! I think April is my favorite (which is funny, because April is my favorite month of the year).
Frances I really like your 2011 calender the photos are fantastic, each one more joyous than the last.

Simon
May your garden thrive in the new year coming! (I must get some of those little pink and white tulips). Happy New Year.
Beautiful Frances! Your poppy photo knocks me off my feet! Each and every one is just a treasure! Moments from your gardens. Happiest of New Years to you and yours!
Excellent photos, Frances. They are all very beautiful. My favorite would be April, June, July, September and the rest. May you have a wonderful year ahead.
Beautiful reminders of what we have to look forward to! It is pouring rain here today, washing aways all the snow revealing very green grass. If only this meant winter was over.

So nice Ms. Frances. I love the photo for April!
Frances this was a lovely presentation. I am glad you made these into a real calendar. I have made calendars too with illustrations. But they were for nieces and nephews. It was from the movie Shrek. Too bad they did not hire me as an artist…. 😀 .
Great work as always Frances. Thanks for a great morning lift.
What a lovely reminder that color is in the world… today we are a frozen tundra… beautiful, but the only brilliant colors are my grandkids parkas.
Happy New Year to you, too, Frances! What a beautiful calendar this will be. May the coming year bring you many happy hours in the garden.
Cool…Happy New Year…Balisha
Great calendar of blooms!! I really love the poppy and maple leaves.
Happy New Year.
Beautiful pictures Frances! Happy New Year!
Really lovely choices for your calender. My favourite is June just because of the colours I think. Happy New Year. V
Love your calendar. What are the purple flowers in October and November? September looks like a Joe Pye weed flower.
Thanks for the beautiful color during these weary months.
No snow, but we are freezing even down here in Florida. My oranges have frozen on the tree.

Beautiful calendar images, Frances. I’m particularly partial to May — what a great color combination!
What beautiful images Frances. Happy New Year to you.
Maybe the best 2010 retrospective I have seen! Beautiful. May 2011 bring you even more joy and beauty.
Happy New year my dear friend~I know we are going to have many more adventures together in the garden and all over this marvelous blogashere! As always your photos are are a delight~April may be my favorite! xxoogail
Neat idea, Frances. I still like using a paper calendar instead of the ones you have online like Outlook. I like writing all the plants blooming and what the weather is. This would make a neat project for us gardeners to make for Christmas or New Years presents.
Maybe next year…this year we created a family cookbook. Happy new Year!
Sue
What a great idea. It would be wonderful to put together a calendar to celebrate the garden and garden activities through the year. You have inspired me.
Happy New Year Frances. The home grown calendars for family is such a great useful gift idea. I should do it. What service did you use. Then I’d have to overcome my internet/computer sloth.
Just beautiful, Frances. What a delight it was to meet you in 2010 and to discover you’re just as lovely in person as you are in blog life. Cheers to another fine year in the garden.
Happy New Year, Frances. It is so nice to look back at the garden and remember the lovely flowers you had.

Always Growing

Lovely images. I look forward to the est of 2011. Happy New Year, Carolyn
I definitely meant the rest of 2011, not eastern standard time, electro shock treatment, expressed sequence tag, or the unusual branch of psychology. It’s amazing what a small mistake can lead to!
What a bright colorful treat this foggy California day! all the best to you in 2011!
The best of everything for 2011.
Thanks for a yr of beauty.
My goodness Frances, I hope you’ve put those photos into a real calendar – they’re gorgeous! Hope you have a fantastic 2011 as well!
I love the pictures- you are top notch in photography! And I love this idea…. it was a wonderful tour through the year.
